CEMIS - AgriERP
The Corporate Enterprise Management Information System (CEMIS) and is a customized enterprise resource planning (ERP) engine that was developed in collaboration with agriculture domain experts specifically for agribusiness and cultivation-based enterprises. It is the product of more than 25 years of in-the-field experience by DCDM consultants. Today, CEMIS is the established standard AgriERP software for the sugar cane industry in Mauritius. It has also started to be deployed for other cash crops and has been adopted in Africa as well.
Through its integrated weighing system, it streamlines the delivery and payment of harvested crops to the mill. The weighing system is integrated with the corporate financials and allows for prompt payment processing to farmers according to quantity and quality of produce. Weigh stations can be geographically distributed to efficiently serve a larger area with remote links to the central system. In addition, it can handle a large estate or a co-operative associated with several smallholders or small farmers.
CEMIS is based on an n-tier architecture which makes it distributed, scalable and accessible via the web or a mobile browser. Using a wide aren network (WAN), it can link up several farms, weigh stations, mills or warehouses for a consolidated view. Furthermore, using database replication, the system can be made more responsive to remote locations and resilient to a site disaster.
